“Dryland Projections” is based on scientific observations of Spanish drylands and potential futures. The exhibit investigates different speculative outcomes for 2052 and if/how genetically modified organisms could become a part of dryland ecosystems.
“Plant Stories” is an interactive installation about tobacco plants and their multifaceted past, present and future applications. The installation is designed to inform visitors about the rich history of tobacco, as well as to invite them to speculate about how the societal role of these plants could be changed, using New Plant Breeding Techniques.
“Carbon Futures” is an interactive work with an explorative approach to the complex systems that humans are designing in order to reduce our carbon footprint. The installation showcases alternative scenarios of dealing with carbon based on real research examples.
Biodesign Here Now – London Design Festival 2018 / London, UK
The 10th annual OGMBT meeting (Austrian Association of Molecular Life Sciences and Biotechnology) / Vienna, AUSTRIA
Several research projects, including Newcotiana and Pharma-factory use new plant breeding techniques and classic bio-engineering techniques to create bio-factories out of tobacco plants, which will produce healthy products. “Plant Designer” introduces the aims, goals, and cutting-edge technologies used in these research projects while inviting visitors to imagine different futures through a speculative series of illustrations and props.
“BIOMAS(S)TERPLAN“ offered an insight into the standardisation methods of biomass processing in the industrial world. Tracing back standardised elements contained in everyday products such as food packaging, cosmetics, adhesives and detergents, this exhibit uncovers the manifold processes, compounds and products of the bioeconomy.
